alriiight.
Show started/doors opened at 7-ish (why in the hell do they never open them on time??), I knew they would be playing first and I had not ever been to this venue in londontown before (Upstairs at the Garage, typical east end shiz) I got there expecting some sort of line, but it was 15 min before 7 and I was second in line. wtf. ok. It was damn cold that night too and the shoreditch street lights are megaaaaa creepy.
Finally, doors opened, went upstairs, tripped of course, and got to a rather small room where the stage sat. I situated myself facing stage left and noticed some band-y type dudes walking around. Then boom, freakin Asa. Inside I was a-freakin-out. I've totally loved his stuff, as mentioned before, back in the creepier days of myspace. I feel semi-weird and creepy that I know asa more than matthew, the other part of electric guest. he was just walking around, finishing up the setlist. The band obviously had some friends there, hence why I never went up to them after they finished playing. It's been too damn long since I've been in a proper concert setting. They ARE coming back in may (and I did not go to their second show the day after this because of schoolings.)
They waited until the end to play the only three songs of theirs I know. But the songs prior were good enough to confirm my future purchase of their album, Mondo (APRIL 23, BUY!)
Troubleman is absolutely beautiful live. I freakin love that song more than ever now!
Asa has the funkiest dance moves ever.
I love them. and omgggg Asa.
edit: did some youtube creepin and found asa wrote this charlotte gainsbourg song and they totally performed it, slight slight differences but holy shit!!
I swear they performed it, but maybe it was similar to "Amber" hell if I knowwww
They totally played the very beginning of "Anna" ...I hope.
