The Killers

So, I saw my most favorite band ever for the second time tonight (last time was SIX YEARS AGO when I was in the front row and it was oh so so magical). This time had its magical moments mixed in with annoying crowds of people.

It was a radio show with various other bands (cake!) and the killers as headliners. So all types of sewer creatures crawled onto the land for this gig therefore they weren't as respectful as most killers fans are to one another (as I have found out from the one gig as well as way too much time on the message boards).

When bad religion was on stage (the band before cake, which were before las killahs), I saw mr ronniekins backstage watching and I had a mini attack. All of those fan obsessed years came back to me.

The beginning of the show was not as amazing as I know it could've been. Plus they started with JWAFOM (really!?, why are they STILL playing this song as part of their setlist). Then they went into mr. brightside which caused a riot shitshow, as I was 3-4 people from the front on mark's side of the stage as the dumbs decided to mosh or attempt to mosh and I was not having it. You don't do that to the killers, you jump, wave your hands, and sing along with these dooblies. No moshing. Or maybe I'm an old bat now, but whatever, no moshing.

They only played 3 battleborn songs (was REALLY hoping for more, that album is so gorgeous) They played 3-5 songs from each of the first 3 albums plus shadowplay, and then the 3 from battleborn, all mixed together of course. I'm really wishing for one day to have them play the whole murder trilogy live in front of my face. that would be DIVINE. oy.

From the last time I saw them and have listened to their live setlists from other shows, they have definitely changed the way they perform. And of course they should since playing live for several months a year would get boring if they kept it the same. But some of the little things brandy added to the songs that I got used to hearing live, are no more. Alas, I will survive hahaha.
Brandy is so lively and into the crowd more with singalongs, more so than before. It was almost half the songs he tried to get the crowd to singalong. I mean, this isn't the UK, we're not crazy awesome audiences like they are.

And the confetti that they sprayed was little red K's and silver lightening bolts!!! so adorable (of course I grabbed some.........).

Songs:
JWAFOM
Mr.B
SLYMI
STM
ATTTID (confetti time!)

FIVE SONGS FROM HOT FUSS!?!?!?! I was expecting 5 battleborn ones. CMONNNNNNN

Read My Mind
When You Were Young
For Reasons Unknown (I immediately knew this song was coming when brandy grabbed the bass)

Human
Spaceman
Dustland Fairytale (wow, so good live, really understood the lyrics even clearer than before because of that)

Shadowplay

Runaways
From Here on Out (not a lot of the crowd knew this or the rest of the battleborn songs)
Miss Atomic Bomb

OH and because of the location (or not) they played a little bit of a cover of "get back" loved it.

Mr mark has gotten so suave, as I was on his side of the stage, I noticed. Good hair, mark.
Davey still kicks ass
and Ronnie still steals hearts.
Also good to know that Ted is still around, creepin from deep onstage.
